Gwen Stefani zrobiła wielki powrót ze swoją trzecią solową płytą w dorobku muzycznym. Po dziewięciu latach piosenkarka nareszcie wydała coś nowego. Jurorka w amerykańskiej edycji The Voice, twarz lakierów O.P.I., liczne okładki magazynów - tam właśnie pojawia się znana nam wszystkim Amerykanka. Trzeba przyznać, że mało jaki artysta tak bardzo przywiązuje się do swojego stylu muzyki, że gdy usłyszymy chociażby nutkę piosenki, wiemy, że to twórczość Gwen. Za to This Is What The Truth Feels Like ma bardzo dużego plusa. Muszę też powiedzieć, że przy dźwiękach Gwen jestem od małego. Kilka lat temu (może nawet kilkanaście) mogliście co chwilę usłyszeć w radiu, czy w różnych sklepach, restauracjach Hollaback Girl, The Sweet Escape, 4 In The Morning, czy Cool. Teraz nadeszła nowa era i nowe propozycje od niesamowitej piosenkarki!

After nine years of waiting we have finally lived to see the day when a juror of The Voice USA, a face of O.P.I. and a magazine's cover star released her new longplay. To be fair, very few artist stick to their style of music just like Gwen do - when we hear a note of her song we instatly know that this had been touched by Stefani. That's why This Is What The Truth Feels Like is so good. I need to tell that I was growing up with music of Gwen. Some years ago You could easily hear her greatest hits, like Hollaback Girl, The Sweet Escape, 4 In The Morning or Cool in radio, shops or even some restaurants. Now it's time for Gwen to slay you one more time!

Third single and the beginning of the album. Gwen serves us best sounds at a very start! Misery, which is an absolute banger at every party. Slow music, but with this dancing rhythm. A good one to be a single. You're My Favourite is a great example of mixing R&B with pop music. If You knew previous Gwen's albums, you probably get a nostalgic feeling. In Where Would I Be? you will hear Gwen from her first solo longplay - Love. Music. Angel. Baby.

Drugi singiel, który swoją premierę miał podczas reklam rozdania tegorocznych Oscarów. Znakomity teledysk, nagrywany "na raz" jest świetną odsłoną piosenki. Make Me Like You, które dobrze sprzedało się w Stanach Zjednoczonych (debiut na #54 na Billboard Hot 100) zaskakuje w każdym momencie. Zdecydowanie jedna z lepszych piosenek tego roku.

Make Me Like You, which was a hit in the USA (it debuted at #54 at Billboard Hot 100) is making everybody surprised at every moment. Definitely one of 2016 the best songs.

Dzięki tej toksycznej sytuacji spotkała autentyczną osobę, która pokazał jej inną drogę do szczęścia (można się domyślić, że chodzi o Blake'a Sheltona). Cała ta historia została właśnie zapieczętowana w piątej propozycji na płycie.
This one was based on the personal life of Gwen. We all know how bad she struggled with revealing the truth of her husband's betrayal. But thanks to this situation she has finally found a genuine love and happiness with her beloved Blake Shelton. All of this toxic pitch was recorded at a 3:35 minutes long song.

Po odsłuchaniu tych trzech utworów aż chce się sięgnąć do zapisanych już w kulturze poprzednich dzieł artystki, nie tylko solowych, ale też tych perełek nagranych w zespole No Doubt. Used To Love You jest bardzo fajną balladą, prawdopodobnie dlatego jest to pierwszy singiel z płyty.

After listening to these three you just want to click the 'play' button at the whole cult classic discography of Gwen, even those CDs recorded with her huge band No Doubt. Send Me A Picture, które raczej nie przypomina twórczości Gwen, jest dla mnie zbyt przesadzone. Oczywiście, dobrze, że artystka szuka nowych brzmień, ale ta kompozycja tutaj nie pasuje. Inne światło rzuca Red Flag, które pozwala na przytupywanie nóżkami, czy nawet pokręcenie bioderkiem. Mocne podobieństwo do młodej, nieco zbuntowanej Gwen z Love. Music. Angel. Baby. To samo przy Asking For It, nagranym ze wschodzącym raperem amerykańskiego airplayu - Fetty Wapem. Dobrze, że na płycie znalazła się chociaż jedna kolaboracja. Oboje świetnie poradzili sobie z wyzwaniem dziewiątego utworu na This Is What The Truth Feels Like.
Send Me A Picture does not really suit here. It is too overdone. Obviously she should find some new ways in music, but this one's is not for me. Different reflection is for Red Flag, which makes you shake it up and move your hips. It is a strong similarity to young, kinda rebel Gwen from Love. Music. Angel. Baby. The same goes for Asking For It which is recorded with a forthcoming rapper - Fetty Wap. Thanks that there is at least one collaboration. Both of them beat the challenge of ninth track from This Is What The Truth Feels Like.

Another nostalgic feeling caught me here. Me Without You - an old good Gwen in an almost four-minute pleasure for ears. Rare which is my good company till this day. And last but not least - Loveable, which reminds me of young Gwen working with No Doubt.

Getting Warmer, pasujące też do twórczości Ellie Goulding. Jednak Gwen potrafi obrócić w złoto wszystko ze swoim niezwykłym, rozpoznawalnym głosem. I na koniec Splash, które do złudzenia przypomina połączenie piosenek z Love. Music. Angel. Baby. z dźwiękami jej zespołu No Doubt.

Getting Warmer which also suits to Ellie Goulding's music. Gwen can turn to gold everything with her iconic and amazing voice. Spark The Fire and Baby Don't Lie should be featured on a tracklist and they will fulfill the missing part in my heart, because I love these songs.
